If you are on a dance floor in Minsk, Belarus and suddenly have a big stupid grin on your face, I bet there is T-Trider on the decks. Drum’n’Bass producer, DJ and promoter, he is well-known for his optimism, infinite energy, ability to create or find catchy tunes, and his great skill of making any party he plays at interesting. He started producing in 1998, but did not think that the result of his work was good enough to show it to the public until 2002 when he co-organised his first party. The party in question was a real success and has finally grown into a monthly festival, «System Of Electronic Madness». For the following two seasons, this was the most interesting event for electronic-heads. Since spring 2003 he has become one of the most requested DJs/produces of the Belarussian capital. Autumn 2003 saw him, together with his friend Anton from «Koordinate of Wonders», art-managing at «New Club», which was the only club in Minsk that had a clear programme and offered something other than cheesy pop music. He organised gigs in Minsk for artists including EU and Klutch, the fat of Russian electronica, and several interesting Russian D’n’B producers, like DJ Bes, Dissident, Proket and Impex. As a DJ he spins D’n’B, all kinds of breaks, gabber and soviet retro, but his own music is much more interesting. His styles include drum’n’bass, breakbeat and sometimes trip-hop or IDM. Vitaly Puschin (T-Trider’s real name) is a real hit-maker. The dance floor is always overcrowded when his remix to the Requiem For a Dream soundtrack starts, and also when his mixes to Russian and Belarussian folk tunes or soviet cartoon retro are played. His tunes that do not use sample material from other sources are also extremely catchy and he has made great progress in his production technique. He is also always open for collaborations. The list of people he has worked with includes such local artists as «Koordinate of Wonders» (IDM), Temax and Walder (D’n’B), Synthetic Dreams (synth-pop), Dreamlin (downtempo) and Maks Retort. His tracks have been released on several compilations in Russia and Belarus. So far he has not had a solo release. But every T-Tider track put online at www.electrokids.org is always a risk that server would not be able to withstand the extra traffic. (c) Egor Kunovsky

Synthetic Dreams is actually a band that never existed. The people behind it, Pavel Bertosh and Andery Slonchinsky have been in a band together, but that was many years ago and the band had another name, Mad About Sound. No matter how big they was, the whole story ended, Pavel has graduated from his university and started working in the Minsk Executive Council, and Andrey moved to Moscow and started producing commercial pop music for big Russian pop acts. Definitely, for most of English-speaking people out there these names would not say anything, but the list is really impressing. What is known as Synthetic Dreams now appeared back in 2000, when Pavel found a compact cassette with their old music, remastered it and uploaded to mp3.com. The page turned into one of the most successful projects form ex-USSR on the site, but considering that the music was produced back in 1996 and Pavel did not have time for extensive promotion it did not turn into another PPK.

Dreamlin is two people from Minsk, Belarus. This all started and as many and many other acts out there: Egor has always played around with all kinds of music software that came around and recording mixtapes; as for Denis he has been playing guitar with a local cult psychedelic-reggae band. Then back in 2000 they decided that something should be done together. As there was no local electronic scene, the music first appeared on the Internet. But after making quite a lot of friends at mp3.com, being a #1 artist for a month in summer 2001 at ampcast.com and getting their music used in several underground and noncommercial films and videos worldwide and one of the songs used in a pre-soundtrack to a Hollywood movie that never came out (song: Bit Mountain, movie: S.W.A.T.), they decided that some local scene has to be created finally. This was in spring 2002. In march they got their first interview published, the first local airplay and played in a club for a first time. Same month Egor started a small CDr label, Gizmo Lab Records ([ >>>
] In june they got a track released on a first in 5 years compilation of local electronic music. In july Egor started to co-host a monthly radioshow with electronic music he likes. Since august they started playing in local clubs almost every weekend, orgaising parties and playing in unusual places like State Planetarium and theatres. New Year eve of 2003 caught Egor playing at a closed party and ever since the monthly routine is a festival of electronic music. The festivals are called System Of Electronic Maddness ([ >>>
] and have grown to make people from all over the country arrive in the capital just to listen. Club flyers still have Dreamlin listed as Downtempo, but in fact they make everything from IDM and house to drum'n'bass and lounge. Apart from being the most requested act in the country they are the most «live» one, including sampled and live guitars played by Denis, rapping on Egor's part and guest vocalists from all over the word. And the collaborations and remixes range from local Belarussain artists to acts from countries ranging from Hawaii to Finland. The goal is to conquer the world, as always. If Dreamlin will not be the next big thing, then the last 3 years were spent in vain. Site: [ >>>
